I'm not going to lie, this book has its violent moments, but I feel that the violence was necessary to adequately get its message across. Even educational books, for example "All Quiet in on the Western Front" and "Johnny Got His Gun", honestly NEED some brutality to actually teach the readers. "Truancy" is actually very similar to "Animal Farm" because of its revolutionary aspect. I would also say that it is a more youthful, updated version of "1984". The book depicts a wide range of emotions and situations. I honestly hope that one day, the Board that is the head of English chooses "Truancy" as required book. Leave a Reply |
